The Foundation for the National Institutes of Health (FNIH) is celebrating their 20th Anniversary and wanted to highlight the important milestones of the Foundation over the past 20 years in their 2016 Annual Report. The report is produced both as print and online via a microsite that was linked to the main website. The feature attraction of the report was to be a timeline illustrating their achievements since their inception.
The challenge was that FNIH wanted to design and build their Annual Report in both print and web site based format. It can be a particular challenge to take one set of content and display it in a way that will seamlessly work for both print and online interactive formats. The print deliverable was designed into a gatefold 3-page spread to display the expanse of the timeline and milestones. The print report was also printed oversized to accommodate a pocket folder included on the inside back cover. The print report was also enhanced with a spot UV coating to bring additional gloss and sparkle to the report. The online web based version featured the timeline with interactivity and provided additional content and links within the timeline of FNIH’s achievements over the years.
Accelerant consulted and advised FNIH through design, development, production, and fulfillment of the entire project, all while keeping within budget. Our team guided them in layout maximization to best accommodate both storytelling with visuals.
